PCB capture and design @TranquilPC

September 6, 2017

Tranquil staff have been involved in Electronics / PCB design and manufacturing since 2003, mainly outsourcing the design and manufacturing services.  Our founder has been involved in electronic manufacturing businesses since the early 1980's - in those days the electronic manufacturing world was very different!

We didn't have SMT, or high speed robotic SMT placement - almost everything was done by hand.    Also on the design side, we had advanced a little since the 'black' tape and 'letraset' on film - but nothing compared to today's amazing computer aided design systems.

Tranquil now have brought PCB schematic capture / layout in house.  The 'Altium' software that has been adopted is ideal as it not only provides advanced schematic design / simulations and PCB layouts, it also plugs into our 3D CAD systems, to ensure the final PCBs are fully integrated.
At present our PCB products are still outsourced.

Initially simple interconnecting and power control PCBs have been designed and already deployed into products.

Below you can see two recent examples, both in our trade mark 'black PCB mask' :

Redundant Power Management and I/O interface.  For a new rugged fan less Xeon Server

  •

  • Providing up to 144W of power control, from two external 12V power sources.  Along with power monitoring / status.

  • USB Pass through

  • Mother board LED / Switch pass through

Custom PCIe riser, for the new V6XD-G Cluster Server

  •  x16 PCIe lane compatible

  • Fully capable to support 75W PCIe cards

  • Mechanically optimised to fit to the V6XD-G cluster nodes
